Cawood Art Group ran its first exhibition in five years last weekend, as talented artists flocked to the Old Boys’ School in the village to showcase their creative pieces.
Since the last Cawood Craft Fair in 2016, the art club hasn’t been able to show off what they’ve been up to. However, this all changed last Saturday (October 30), which coincided with a fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Society. Despite the group continuing online during the lockdown, they have since returned to meeting fortnightly in the Bowling Clubhouse, Cawood. Because the group had been so productive and developed their Artistic skills, it was agreed that they would put on this exhibition in Cawood. It was so well attended last Saturday by people from as far away as Gate Helmsley and was a great success. As well as raising funds from refreshments for club funds, the art club raised £102 for the Alzheimer’s Society from the sale of raffle tickets for a large hamper.
