The Snaith Sonics U8s were named champions the Pontefract Collieries Gala.
The squad beat out 15 other teams in their age group and lost just one match on Saturday, July 24. They conquered North Duffield 2-0 in the quarter finals and beat Thorpe 3-2 in the semi finals with a last minute goal. The final against Ossett Town was tight but saw a last minute win with a goal to bring the team up 1-0 with just minutes on the clock. The game was clenched with just 30 seconds remaining thanks to a free kick smashed home in the top corner.
