The Soroptimist International of Selby held its Annual Quiz at Haddlesey Church Community Hall recently.
Over 65 visitors of the Hall enjoyed the event on Friday, February 23, which included seven rounds of questions about history, music, the human body, news topics, TV, sport and more. Quiz-goers also enjoyed a more difficult round of anagrams relating to food dishes and foreign currency. This year’s winners were The Friends of Selby Soroptimists - Sam and Rich Boyles, Jennie Leitch, Lisa and Paul Stringer and Jeremy and Zoe Baker. Quiz master June Bryan, said: “All the teams did well. “There was a variety of rounds, with something for everyone and all participants enjoyed the quiz, raffle and bar.” The event raised £900 for the club’s charity account, with proceeds allocated to local, international and Soroptimist International Global Women’s Organisation (SIGBI) charities at the group’s Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, April 24. The group concluded: “Our congratulations to the winning team, The Friends of Selby Soroptimists, and our thanks to everyone who came to the Quiz. “We look forward to seeing you all next year at our Annual Quiz 2025.”
