The legendary Zak Raynor, from Hirst Courtney, is back with his charitable escapades - raising over £400 from his Yorkshire Day bake sale.
Zak, 18, who lives with severe disabilities, sold buns and other baked goods and held a raffle from his driveway for friends, family and passers-by on Sunday, August 1 - Yorkshire Day 2021. Overall, Zak raised £404 from selling his sweet treats and all of the money will go to MND and Cancer Research - two charities very close to his and his family’s hearts. This is not the first time the 18-year-old has raised money through his star baking. Back in May, Zak took part in the ‘Captain Tom 100 challenge’ and baked 100 buns, raising a massive £800 from his little village stall. Zak’s mum, Tina, paid tribute to her son: “We may not have had the turn out we had hoped for but, yet again, with the help of family and friends, old and new, you have achieved another brilliant amount. Well done Zak. You are amazing.”
