Striders quartet tame the brutal Hardmoors 60

A huge variety of races were attended last week by members of Selby Striders Running Club.

Four striders set off to complete the Hardmoors 60 - a 62-mile race with over 8500ft of elevation on the coast from Guisborough to Filey - which has to be completed in 18 hours. First over the line was Stephen Headley in 15:17, Michelle Newton and Caroline Johns both finishing in 17:51. Samantha Law took part in the Grim up North six-hour challenge, and completed nine laps near Masham covering over 30 miles. Simon Rider headed to York to take on the York run Turpin challenge, another lap event where Simon completed six laps covering a distance of 26 miles. Ali Wood and Rachel Bostock both completed the Lakeland Trails 18km Trail race. Ali finishing in 1:31 claiming 14th place and Rachel in 2:02. Joanne Hindle completed Cleethorpes 10k in 1:04, and Rebecca headed to Malton to take part in the 10km Marathon Du Medoc. Further afield Michaela Pritchard completed the Caernarfon half marathon in a time of 2:06.
